As my kids would tell you.. any time were out driving around.. or on some of the road trips Erin and I would take from the airport and back picking up Jake or just out goofing around, one of the things we always did together and one of my best memories of Erin was buying scratch off tickets trying to win some BIG MONEY. Erin is every much one of my kids.,, the same as both Jake and Jeremy are. I could not have loved her more if I had given birth to her.I also considered her one of my closest and best friends. So today as my RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS I stopped at the convenience store and bought $20.00 worth of $2.00 scratch off tickets. It was sad not having Erin there to scratch them off with me,and I could not bring myself to scratch them without her.. but I know she was smiling down and watching as I taped each one of them to a note with this website address AND her picture, indicating I was doing this in honor of her 21st birthday. I passed them out to 10 random people along with her story and this web address asking them to join us in random acts of kindness in her honor if they felt inclined to. I dont now if anyone WON anything, but I sure do hope so!! I know that I personally consider MYSELF a winner just because I had the honor of having her in my life all of these years. My house will never be the same again without her just popping in to visit with that big heartwarming smile... and her contagious laughter. I am so touched by the stories I am reading here and the wonderful things that people are doing to keep such an amazing angel alive in our hearts. Tomorrow and the rest of the week through Sunday, I will be doing more random acts of kindness on Erins behalf. In my SECOND act of kindness today.. I wrote and sent a letter to someone very important in my life telling them how very much I love them.. and how much it has meant to me to have them as a part of my life... theres more to come, the week is not over yet. FLY HIGH, SWEET ANGEL OF MINE!! I still feel you all around me in the music I hear, in my house and in my heart. Say hello to God for me and most of all.. save a place up there for me.. I cant wait to spend more time with you, Erin Leslie Hook!!! I love you SO very much.
