As of 4:00 AM today, Tropical Storm Emong’s center was estimated at 570 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, and PAGASA declared it outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Emong is expected to move north at 22kph. A low pressure 450km west of Ambulong, Tanuan, Batangas is now being monitored by PAGASA. Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol region will experience monsoon rains while Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA and the rest of Luzon will have light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Based on Weather Central’s rainfall data, moderate rain can be expected in Central and Northern Luzon, becoming heavy at times. Bataan, Zambales, the Ilocos region and the rest of Luzon (MIMAROPA, CALABARZON and the Bicol region) will have light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. Light to moderate rain showers or thunderstorms will also prevail in western Visayas as well as in eastern Mindanao (CARAGA and Davao Region) becoming isolated afternoon rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. Metro Manila will remain cloudy today with light to moderate rain. Expected maximum temperature is 30-31°C.
