As of December 26th Ive officially been traveling for four months, and if theres one thing Ive learned is how lucky I am to be a solo female traveler I know, this sounds ludicrous. And yes, if these past four months have shown me anything, it’s that females do need to be more cautious, aware, and mindful when traveling solo, and that an unfair gender bias does still unfortunately exist that makes the world a little more accessible and a little more secure for males. But if these past four months have taught me anything, it’s that the world is a lot more accepting and appreciative of the female traveler. So if I’ve learned anything over these past four months, it’s how appreciative I am to be a female traveler.Because although girls are conditioned to be more afraid of the world around them than a boy might be, the world is far less afraid of solo female travelers than their male counterpart.
