As one of the admin, we are all always getting asked why this page is called, “I was one of the 1,617,989 million Scots”. We all know it doesn’t make sense. That would make us like 1.6 trillion. It’s a funny story, I think, and I would like to share: Our founder, Stephen, toddles home in the wee, small hours of the 19th September, totally disheartened (like the rest of us) and a little worse for wear, decides to create this page. He falls asleep and in the morning wakes up to 20,000 people on the page fighting! :) By then, it’s too late to change the name. He has tried. He created a new page with the correct grammar, “I am one of the 1,617,989 ….”, we’ve tried our hardest to shift people over and asked FB to merge the two, but unfortunately, FB as always, are taking their own sweet time. I guess our name makes us unique :) As the year is drawing to an end, I would like to give Stephen a big ‘thank you’ for creating this page. I had the pleasure of meeting him recently and he’s such a great guy … salt of the earth. I would also like to thank everyone who has taken the time to contribute. You, the people, are the people who make this page. I’m happy that Stephen invited me to be an admin. Anytime I posted anything on my own FB page re the Indy-ref, I was getting pelters from the No voters. So, I picked up my wee saltire and headed on over. Now I can post whatever I want and it is met with approval from like-minded Scots. I truly believe that 2015 will be our year.
