As one who suffered from a 2006 wrongful arrest incident, I feel police need to be monitored and held accountable for their actions. However, “The Free Thought Project” is being less then honest in its portrayal of this incident – “Cops Murder a Man for ‘Illegally Camping’”– which is even more bizarre since they provide a link to the story’s source in the Albuquerque Journal. Did they think no one would check? Here’s what “Free Thought” left out. “Boyd appears to pull out knives in both hands as an officer with a dog approaches him. He makes a threatening motion toward the officer.” “Boyd had a history of violence against law enforcement.” “A video of the incident shows officers telling the man to show his hands. They demand repeatedly: “Put the knife down!” “The suspect continued to rant after a crisis-intervention officer arrived. The suspect tells officers he’s an agent of the Department of Defense.” The Free Thought Project gives another example of misguided individuals passing off falsified information as fact. thefreethoughtproject/helmet-cam-footage-shows-cops-murder-man-illegally-camping/#6uJI7DfJLdrpPAuZ.99
