As our French holiday comes to an end, I am looking over the pool - TopicsExpress

As our French holiday comes to an end, I am looking over the pool area of our villa at Le Rouret, and across the mountains and valleys to the haze covered horizon of the Mediterranean, and look back. To the disappointment of the cancellation of our Danube cruise, to our hasty rearrangement of the two weeks, where we spent a week in the north of France touring the Normandy landing sights and the museum and American Cemetery. A real sobering experience. Then a 7day bus tour of the Champagne area where we visited 3 vineyards and tasted their products. Australians were the majority on the tour with a few Canadians and of course a couple from USA. Overall a great experience and we became a very close knit team. The tour culminated at a dinner at a small intimate Follies Berger Show where we fluked front row table. My neck was somewhat stiff the next morning. Back in Paris we were disappointed that our tour of the Eifell Tower was cancelled due to a strike. But once again enjoyed reacquainting to the many sights of this wonderful city. What a pity there are so many Frogs living here! The villa has been very comfortable and we have of course visited numerous walled cities, cathedrals etc. a highlight was watching the Tour de France go through just 7 K from ours villa. We head back to Paris and home on Saturday Au Revor,
