As our photos from Easter were delayed, and now we are in Thomas Week, and everyone else posted lots of Easter photos, we will just enjoy looking at one of our dear visitors from the East Coast, who brought his gentle Franciscan presence to our celebration. He belongs to the Franciscans of the Renewal, a group formed by Father Benedict Groeschel, who work among the poor and marginalized in the large cities. It is always good to offer those Brothers a time in our hills, away from the din and clang of the city, so they can indeed renew themselves. Over the years we have hosted many of them, and we truly hope to host many more, along with many other active religious, who so benefit from the silence and prayer our monastery offers. As we proceed through the weeks after Easter, let us be grateful for the beautiful hills and mountains, and share them gently and carefully, so all who come, will find rest, as did the Brother here.
