As part of my campaign for judge, I need 250 registered voters in Bexar County to sign my petition to get on the ballot by December 9th. I have run into many of you, petitions in hand, asking for you to help me get on the ballot. Thank you for signing my petition. On Sunday, I ran into a woman at an event, who forthrightly refused to sign my petition until she had had a chance to talk to my opponents. Having heard this numerous times and thinking it was a polite way to decline to sign, I went about my day and forgot all about this interaction. On Monday, just as I was entering an event, a woman reaches out her hand and says that she would like to sign my petition. The surprise must of shown on my face but I nonetheless start to give my pitch, explaining that she can only sign one petition for this race. She stops me and reminds me that I had sought her signature the day before. Now, however, she had met the other two candidates and decided to sign mine.
