As part of the Ginellis Organic, Earth & Art month we will be hosting the talented Bronwyn Katzke Photography for Bronwyns first exhibition. Here is a little bit more about this talented local fine art photographer through her artists statement about her inspiration and living creatively through her talent. We are so excited to see her work adorn our restaurant. She will be exhibiting alongside a Glen Carlou wine tasting, her photography as contemporary as this wine farm. Heres Bronwyn: I am Bronwyn Katzke, a fine art photographer living and working in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. Even though I share my artwork on various platforms, for me photography is a very personal venture. I dont photograph for others tastes but purely for myself; using the medium as a way to express my interpretation of the world around me and those I encounter in it. By observing my surroundings and other individuals through the lens, I am free to explore the human experience through texture, colour and light, and interpret it as a story from my standpoint. My fascination with light and the way it interacts with both animate and inanimate subjects adds to this drive to present a visual story through still images. By using light to sculpt my chosen subject, I am able to bring dimensionality on a physical and emotional level and play with being a storyteller. However, that story does not end once the shutter is released. Instead it is added to and fleshed out further in post production through the manipulation of tones and contrast. In many instances I often feel the need to expand beyond traditional photography and incorporate geometric shapes and patterns to my works, further changing the story I see in my subject.
