As pastors, we do need your prayers and encouragement. Some of us - TopicsExpress

As pastors, we do need your prayers and encouragement. Some of us dont need those testimonies of people coming to tell the congregation about a R30million tender they got or a huge Mercedes Benz 500GL they bought after sowing a seed. Just see the testimony that made me cry last week after the evening service: Pastor, I thank God that I was invited to come to bible studies by a friend who fellowships here. At first I didnt understand because this friend was no longer standing with us at street corners, smoking and drinking, trying to forget our frustrations about life. Last week I got a job as a cleaner and the Silver Star Casino. You told us that what ever we do, we should be prepared to start low because that is where success starts. I am grateful for this job because it has made me realise it is possible to be someone of value here on earth. I know the job may not be much, but I am glad and and am definitely sure it is better than standing on the street smoking and drinking things we could not even afford. Two days ago, I knocked off early and I joined my friends on the street corner. Pastor, the things they were talking were senseless and lacked life and direction. I just could not believe that I used to have an input in such useless conversations and used to enjoy them. Pastor, I left the guys told them that I had to go and something came up. I just had to get away. I could not just listen to that negative talk about life. I am glad I accepted the invitation to come to church. This is where you have spoken life to me. my life changed here at church. You never told me about my drinking or smoking, even though you probably smelled me as you were driving me home in your beautiful car after Bible Study. I quit all those things and you never even told me to. I thank God for you pastor. Thank you very much I am in tears again as I write this. After this testimony, I know that I am doing the right thing. I will continue to use the pulpit in the right manner: PULling people from the PIT. I am encouraged, even though ministry is challenging with so many negative people around. I will continue. Thank you Klaas for your testimony to me. (No big car, no big house, no R30m tender, no marriage offers, no frills. Just a powerful testimony that made me cry) Have a great evening.
