As per last year’s tragic event more specifically, the #RanaPlaza disaster, when a building collapse on April 24, 2013 led to the death of 1127 workers and 2515 injured victims, our volunteers joined in the with the rescuers and tried to give their best shot in saving as much as victims as possible. We are concerned about the issues that are hindering the economic growth of Bangladesh such as human rights abuses, bad working conditions as well as security breaches. Moreover, safety issues are still not enforced, emergency exits are still missing and the millions of garment workers are not trained what to do if a fire occurs in a garment factory or if the building collapses. Therefore, this year we have taken a step ahead and on the International Workers Day, we want to voice out our concern. This year we are conducting a First Responder Training with garment workers on May 3, 2014 at Far East Knitting & Dyeing Industries Ltd. Gazipur which will teach the garment workers some basic skills on assessment and CPR skills which can increase the survival of an injured person.
