As promised, an announcement: after long thought, consideration & deliberation, I have arrived at a change of convictions. Lets face it, if you have too much freedom, everything just turns into a circus. If people are allowed too much social freedom, then you have chaos & anarchy. If people have too much economic freedom, then you just have rich folks exploiting the working (& not working) poor. We can only function when you have those who are wiser than we centrally plan our affairs for us. Thank heavens we have a President that cares about us regular folk who are trying to make ends meet. I really thought about what Michelle said at the Dem Convention in 12, paraphrasing: I want you to know that when Barack goes to bed at night & wakes up in the morning, he cares about you. The more Ive considered those words, the more Ive nearly been moved to tears. We are beset by threats to our security. We deserve better. We live daily with the threat of terrorism. We can be blown to pieces at a moments notice. Im glad that we have Homeland Security & the TSA to protect us. We should be grateful for the drones in our skies overhead & in the Middle East who are protecting our lives & freedom. What keeps me from shuddering in abject, paralyzing fright that some Islamic radical could kill me or a loved one at any second is the security of knowing our friends at the NSA are casting their ever-watchful eye on the rabble-rousers & troublemakers who threaten the safety of our beloved Government. Similarly, our wise & just President is correct when he says that we must deal with this health insurance crisis. There are just too many uninsured Americans out there & its not fair that some folks have health insurance & others dont. We are dawning on the Age of Social Justice. Lets be honest: the rich didnt get what they got honestly. They stole it from the less fortunate out there. So why shouldnt they be made to pay a lot more & certainly, their fair share. Its not like theyre going to use their money for anything good anyway. At minimum, we need to raise the minimum wage. Who can live on the current minimum wage? Imagine trying to support a family on a career earning min wage. Thats just not fair. But Id go farther--the Govt is really in a better position to decide what is fair for individuals to earn. So in my view, the time has come for Govt to set the wage rate for everybody. Things work much better when we let those who know best in the Government centrally plan our economy. And as for guns...soon, Ill be turning them in at a Police Buyback Sale. There really is no reason for a private citizen to need a firearm. Thats what the state is for: to protect you. Is this a huge transition? Sure, but Ive been pondering these things for awhile & today seems like a great day to announce my redemption & conversion to social justice. Otherwise, you just end up becoming like my now-former mentor Ayn Rand & being a cutthroat. And no one wants to be that. So theres the announcement. Yall be nice to our President too. He cares about us.
