As promised, weekly update from the last week of bowling: Div 1 Week 39 – Tenpin City – 16 November The division bowled 5½ pins over average at Tenpin City with 58 200 games and 14 600 series. The high game went to Robbie Alston with 279, finishing with an average of 219.9, which I believe is the highest finishing average for any bowler in BST who has bowled at least 2/3rds of the season. Robbie was followed by Alex Sole with 258 & 257, Alan Shephard 248, Darryl Burton 247 and reserve Kristain Asquith 245. The high series also went to Robbie, with 734, followed by Alex 707, Alan 675, Darryl 658, Chris Cooper 635 and Ray Dillon 633. The ladies high game went to Leigh Shephard with 267, followed by Amy Ridgway 237, Leigh again 232, Trudy Gould 219, Paula Clarke 210, Kayleen Watts 207 and 203 and Meg Abdilla and Michelle Simmonds 202. The series went to Leigh with 636, Amy 610, Kayleen 596, Janelle Crass 580, Michelle 579 and Trudy 562. Leaders Rooty Hill Knights wrapped up the title with an 11-8 win, while second place Lidcombe Lightning lost 13-6 to Windsor Reapers who moved up to equal 5th as a result. 3rd place Bowlarama Legion won 15-4 against 4th place Windsor Warriors to end up only 4 points behind 2nd place. 5th place Wetherill Park Phoenix lost 14-5 to Wetherill Park Bandits and ended up sharing 5th spot while Bandits moved up one place to 7th. The other big win on the day was to Rooty Hill Hurricanes with 14½. The weekly high game went to Legion with 1085 followed by Reapers 1071 and Windsor Destroyers 995. The series went to Legion with 3028 making the 5th team to roll over 3000 pins in the season, followed by Reapers with 2989 and Knights 2857. Div 2 Week 39 – Windsor Bowl – 16 November The division bowled 3 pins over average at Windsor with 39 200 games and 5 600 series. The high game went to Les Dunn with 280, followed by Neil Maloney with 279 and 267, Craig Brandon 264, Jared Kirkland 238 and Wolf Miller 237. The series went to Neil taking the high series for the year with 748, followed by Wolf 683, Les 658, Jared 656 and Craig645. The Ladies high game went to Tamika Spooner with 210, followed by Melissa Webb 197, Evelyn O’Donnell and Fran Sharman 191, Annette Simmonds 190 and Kay Ginger 188. The series went to Maria Wrublewski with 514, closely followed by Annette 513, Tamika 503, Melissa 501, Samantha Shortland 497, Evelyn 493 and Kay 491. Champions Bowlarama Alley Catz went down 11-8 to Hornsby Hawks who moved up from 9th to equal 6th spot. 2nd place Villawood Hi Rollers lost 10-9 to Windsor Devils and 3rd place Lidcombe Larrikins lost 13-6 to Fairfield Fire but both teams held their positions. 4th place Windsor Tigers were not so fortunate losing 12-7 to Rooty Hill Jokers and dropping to equal 6th, while 5th place Rooty Hill Hotshots lost 13-6 to Tenpin City Bandits and dropped to 9th spot while Bandits took 4th. Windsor Wizards won 11-8 against Blacktown Bushrangers and moved into 5th spot while Bushrangers dropped to 8th. The top 5 teams all lost and all teams in the 4th to 9th range moved up or down. The high game went to Larrikins with 998 followed by Fire 948 and Tigers 935. The series went to Fire with 2766, Alley Catz with 2710 and Hawks with 2696. Div 3 Week 39 – AMF Castle Hill – 16 November The division bowled 3 pins under average at Castle Hill with 9 200 games and 2 600 series. The high game went to Ricky Andrews with 277 followed by Bob Quinn with 257, William Macrohon 232, Bob again 212, Mike Alagich 207, Glenn Luxford 205, reserve Ray Vandine 204 and Christopher Taylor 202. The series went to Bob with 657, followed by Ricky 605, William 554, Ray 543, Terry Parsalides 533, Mike 530, Matt Jeffress 529 and Richard Malcolm 528. The ladies high game went to Janine Hendry 203, followed by Julie Strickland 198, Marianne Keith 197, Trinny Short 193, reserve Leonie 191 and Laurelle Richardson 189. The series went to Rita Harris with 516, followed by Leonie 494, Angela Miller and Trinny on 487, Ros Kirkland 482 and Marianne 479. Champions Bowlarama Raging Bulls won a close game with 4th place Randwick Rebels who dropped to 5th spot as a result but not before giving the champions a scare in the first game keeping them to ½ a point. Castle Hill Devils won 14-5 and held onto 2nd spot despite a determined finish by Liverpool Lions in 3rd who won 13-6. Windsor Mixed Nuts moved up into 4th spot with 11 points while Illawarra Steelers scored 14 on the bye to move up 1 spot to 8th. Villawood Vikings avoided the wooden spoon by ½ a point scoring 8½ points while Sneeky Cobras could only manage 7. The high game went to Steelers with 912, followed by Cobras 883 and Wetherill Park Rangers on 872. The series went to Steelers with 2485 followed by Rooty Hill Cannons 2397 and Devils on 2383.
