As shared by the Czech theatre history teacher who lectured in my first drama school in California, 1975-6. He writes: 50 Years ago The BEATLES came to communist Czechoslovakia. Kind off. English language lyrics were forbidden. And there was no money to purchase original recordings. So Karel Gott- The Czech Nightingale, was called in to replace the decadent British group. I still remember standing in front of the record shop listening to this new sound. Well, in translation. Its been a Hard Days Five Year Plan? Anyway, theres just an interview in Czech (a language that somehow I never learned) after the song which you are welcome to skip. But the band looks exactly like The Wild and Crazy Guys from SNL and are enjoyable for that.
