As social beings, we want others to like us. Particularly those, whom we like. We want this so badly, that we sometimes stop being fully true to ourselves and our own expression. We chose to wear a mask and play a character, according to what we figure or know the other wants to see. We are compensating for the perceived and real judgements of others at the loss of our true self. Who do we chose to be? Authentic or fake? The price we pay for fake is double. We are living for someone else PLUS we lose ourselves - so, live authentically first... dont mind the people it does or does not please.
