As some of you may know, Dwain Dickinson, was hospitalized a couple of weeks ago and it was discovered that the ammonia count in his blood, was higher than they wanted and it was causing him to be drowsy all the time. He was consistently falling asleep during conversation. The hospital visit was horrible as he was told he couldn’t eat or drink for the duration of his stay due to all of the tests they would be doing. He even scrounged for water, drinking of out the tap in the restroom in his room. We were able to come home and have some quality time as a family. Wednesday we learned the result of the hospital stay was that he was no longer qualified for the study. His oncologist at home, Dr. Shepherd, was clear. Any further combatting the disease was doing more harm than good. So now he is at a fork in the road. We are scheduled to speak with a social worker from a Hospice group in less than an hour which will assist us as the situation will likely degrade. For the time being we’re coping with this huge step. Bailey and Rylee are informed of what this means and as usual they have very different ways of dealing with it. Both are amazing and have been attempting to wait on Dad hand and foot. Also we’ve been meditating on John 5:14-25. Dwain explained that this is the same as praying His will. We’ve got to get in line completely with His will before we pray effectively. Our hearts are heavy and we’re very scared but ultimately we know that God controls the situation. Dwain has stated that he would like to go back to the beach, so Lord willing we be leaving for the beach on Saturday. He has also said he would like to return to the mountains, so we’re praying that God makes this possible as well. The outpouring of love from this community and truly all around the country has been utterly amazing. As hard as it is to see all of this occur, we know that God is in it. To Him be the glory. Resting in Him Shawna, Dwain, Bailey, and Rylee
