As some of you may know, we’ve been helping Russell document the progress of his Vision EcoBricks project in the Cordillera. This time around, we’re asked to help him bring more grasses and herbs into one of the Schools in Bontoc where bottle bricks have been used to build their park. The project was noticed by no other than the USEC of Education and is now eyeing on integrating Russell’s pilot project of Food-Forest-Play-Parks to the National Advocacy Program of DepEd which is Oh My Gulay! (OMG) or also known Gulayan sa Paaralan. Since Russell is not in the country as of this time, I am soliciting for any support you could impart in realizing this endeavor. In keeping up with Russell’s approach to implementing his projects where minimal help is sought from government agencies and instead uplifting our long tradition of Dang-as/Alluyon/ Bayanihan/ Volunteerism/ Community Service, any help you could extend, in cash or in kind, will be highly appreciated. What we need now are Carabao/Crab grasses for a 10 sq.m. park which costs around 100 php/sq. m and more herbal plants. If any of you have them or know someone who can give it at a minimal cost will be much appreciated. Of course giving it for free is far awesome! The picture below shows half of the park already flowering with herbs but the other half of it needs to be completed. So far children have been enjoying nibbling the leaves during their breaks. We will be sending these plants to Bontoc anytime next week as soon as we are able to pull together all the resources needed. Please support and help us raise a generation of healthy and vibrant children where they can experience the abundance of nature’s blessings. PM me for any help you could extend. Ipakaunak en iti panagyaman (Thank you in advance). :D
