As someone who wasnt born and brought up in this country I have stayed deliberately quiet on FB about my voting intentions. However on the eve of poll Im sure its no surprise to most of you that I will be voting #nothanks tomorrow. As a liberal, freedom of expression and independent thought are core to my political and moral views. Of course there are exceptions, but what Ive seen of the Yes camps almost cult-like belief in a Better Everything For Everyone without questioning - or seemingly being allowed to question - how all the improvements on the conflicting wish lists might be achieved politically or even paid for, just doesnt work for me. For this, and many more reasons, I am a No. HOWEVER I respect those friends with opposing views who feel that independence is a gamble worth taking.
