As temperatures soar in the last week of school holidays, we’re reminding Queenslanders that irrigation channels are not the place to cool down. Swimming in channels is prohibited due to safety hazards including submerged pipe inlets, siphons, hidden currents and steep slopes. Please heed all safety signage and only swim in designated areas at our dams and weirs. Our friend Blue has more water safety tips:
