As the 4th of July nears and we celebgrate the Countrys Birthday we should remember what our forefathers did to make this possible. We are in some tough times. We have a President and members in the House and in Congress as well as the Presidents cabinet that want to rip this country apart. They are also trying to take our Constitutional Rights away. They want to take God out of the picture. There is so much fighting and bickering. I am not going to standby and let this happen. I will do what I think is right and fight for this country so that my kids and future grandkids can enjoy the freedoms that I enjoy. As I think about what is going on I often remember a quote from one of my favorite movies (The Patriot with Mel Gibson.) Here are a the quotes that I remember. Just think about the conversation form the movie. Think about what was said in the movie. I posted the quotes below. From the Patriot. Mr. Howard: We ARE citizens of an American nation! An elected legislature can trample a mans rights as easily as a king can. Col. Harry Burwell: Captain Martin, I understood you to be a patriot. Benjamin Martin: If you mean by patriot, am I angry about taxation without representation, well, yes I am. Should the American colonies govern themselves independently? I believe that they can, and they should.
