As the Dalai Lama says, Dont try to use what you learn from Buddhism to be a Buddhist; use it to be a better whatever-you-already-are.” I was born into a Christian culture & continue to identify with Christianity, though admittedly often judge my fellow Christians for not representing & interpreting Christs teachings in the same way I do. I was turned onto many of the Buddhist ideas by reading a book in college from a friend of mine called An Introduction to Zen Buddhism by D.T. Suzuki. I identified with much of what I read & continue to use the teachings to explore & expand my own understanding of the world, inside & out.
