As the Senate and the House of the North Carolina General Assembly - TopicsExpress

As the Senate and the House of the North Carolina General Assembly have both concurred on the Conference Report on SB-812, removing the Common Core State Standards from North Carolina Public Schools, I hope that all who have been a part of this fight that caused this to happen, will please understand the true historical significance of what you have been a part of. For nearly 50 years, starting with Pres. Johnson signing the first version of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act in 1965, the national government has been on a methodical and, in most cases, stealth campaign to take over the public education system of the United States. Piece by piece, bill by bill, the encroachment has just steadily progressed unimpeded, until today. For the first time in this near 50 year war, We The People have finally become aware of the war, showed up on the battlefield, and through exercising our responsibility and obligation as Citizens, we have won this battle and struck a major blow to the national government. We must understand that this is only one battle in a long war, but it is not insignificant by any measure. And there will be other battles in this war that we must fight going forward, but We The People have shown we are willing to fight! And understand this is not just a victory for education and for the children of our State, but for the whole concept of the State of North Carolina being a Sovereign Entity within the voluntary compact which is the United States of America. This is a day for ALL Citizens of the State of North Carolina to stand proud and proclaim we are North Carolinians first and Americans proud, as the Founders truly envisioned it. Thank You! REMEMBER EXTORTION 17!!
