As the curtain falls on 2014 I look back to a year that I have so - TopicsExpress

As the curtain falls on 2014 I look back to a year that I have so much to be thankful for. As an unsigned, self-managed, self-releasing musician it does of course get frustrating at times when doubt and insecurity slip through the net, but right now I am fuelled with drive and determination going into the new year. I cant stop writing songs, cant stop thinking about playing live, and have a catalogue of new material that I cant wait to share. There are so many people behind the scenes that kept the wheels turning this year and more than deserve a thank you. Firstly to you guys that are reading this for getting behind me, pushing my music both online and by word of mouth, buying the records, watching the videos, coming to gigs, and for your kind words and enthusiasm. The reason I throw the time, energy and money into this is because of you. To my family and friends for your continued encouragement and for your valued opinions. To the musicians who have played their part in the band this year (Joel, Tim, Peter, Conor, Laura, Phil, Ryan and Triona). Its a proper honour to have such incredible musicality with me both on stage and in the studio. An extra thank you to Joel and Tim for your continued loyalty and belief. To the radio stations, television networks, publications and boggers that have showcased my music to the masses. Means the absolute world. To CMPR and Collective Management for your continued hard work on the PR side of things both North and South of the boarder, and for pushing my music successfully to radio, print media and television. To Mark Haslett Photography for your endless help with photos, videos, graphics and website design. Youre a genius To Darren Lee and the Maverick Renegade team for the brilliant music videos you guys have produced for me. And finally thank you to those fellow artists and bands who have invited me into their lives to write songs with them this year. Its been an absolute pleasure, and im beyond excited over so many of the songs weve written together and cant wait to see where they can potentially go in the coming months. Hope the new year delivers a brilliant and memorable one for everyone. I shall leave you with this quote by Jonas Salk: Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality. Heres to 2015! Jason x
