As the debate regarding the new development at the Saxonvale site - TopicsExpress

As the debate regarding the new development at the Saxonvale site rages on, Frome Town Council have been delighted with the fantastic response from local residents, all keen to voice their opinions and have a say in the future of our town. To date huge numbers of questionnaires have already been completed and they are currently gathering all feedback to relay to the planning office in Mendip later in the month. Keen to engage one step beyond the questionnaires, Frome Town Council are offering residents the opportunity to come and attend their council meeting at the Assembly Rooms behind the Memorial Theatre on 23rd January at 7.00pm to discuss the outline planning application submitted by Frontier Estates for the Saxonvale site. The meeting will open with an introduction by Town Clerk, Paul Wynne who will explain how the meeting will be run. Peter Wheelhouse and Patrick Moss will then set the scene by presenting a technical overview of the planning application, some information on alternative proposals for Saxonvale that are being developed by the Carley Development Trust and a summary of the responses received to date from members of the public. Those attending will then be asked to sit in small groups and discuss some key questions which will try to gauge their opinions on: * The current proposals * Alternative approaches to the development of the site should the application be refused There will be an opportunity to give feedback on each and every question posed. It is vital that everyone is able to voice their opinion and be heard so time will be allocated accordingly to ensure that after each question, each table will be asked to feedback the main outcomes of their discussions.. Following the round table discussions, Councillors will then take account of this feedback and the technical paper and recommendations made by officers before deciding whether or not to support Frontiers applicationahead of Mendips deadline for responses on 24th January 2014. This collaborative and democratic approach to the Saxonvale project is indicative of how the Town Council operates. They want to ensure they represent the needs of people of Frome in this debate and that any new development of the Saxonvale site reflects, where possible, the requirements of each and every one of us. This is a fantastic opportunity to voice your opinions directly to the councillors of Frome Town Council, and ensure that your voice is heard. Do not miss it!
