As the horrible images of our fellow believers who have been martyred for confessing Jesus continue to flow out from the area controlled by ISIS, and as we recall the persecution so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ endure throughout the world for the sake of the Gospel, let us turn to the Father of all mercies and the God of all comfort and beg His mercy and grace: To raise those who fall and strengthen those who stand; and to comfort and help the weakhearted and distressed: We implore You to hear us, good Lord. To give to all peoples concord and peace ... to watch over all who are in danger, necessity, or tribulation ... strengthen and keep all sick persons and young children; to free those in bondage and to have mercy on us all: We implore You to hear us, good Lord.
