As the slaughter heats up once again in Iraq, many US politicians and pundits are lamenting the fact that US troops are no longer there, and some are even implying that we should put boots on the ground once again. Chief among these are the same right-wingers who helped push us into that disastrous war in the first place. Lets be clear: Getting lectured on Iraq by these people is like getting fire safety tips from an arsonist. Sending group troops to Iraq was a terrible idea in 2003, and its a terrible idea today.
