As this month of October progresses, I am feeling kinda loud about things we have tried to be kinda quiet about. There are just some things that we can do very little about (meaning we ... our family), but as secondary victims of this kind of violence, awareness is something that we can do. Tim has expressed to me, relative to helping people understand, One person at a time .... This article sums up a lot of it. I was drawn to the survivors (her name is Tracy ...) comment: A victim could be anyone,” Tracy said. “My closest friends never knew what I was going through. It could be happening right next door.” It happens. Thank you Cindy and Georgia for your contributions to awareness in this article. Thanks to all my friends at the Canyon Creek Womens Crisis Center (CCWCC), the St. George DOVE CENTER and I would like to include the incredible work that Sue Kimball does at the Erin Kimball Memorial Foundation. It breaks my heart knowing that there are little Megans out there with a perfect picture on the outside and a life of horror behind closed doors and the daily trauma and confusion that this abuse causes. I am grateful for safe havens like these and the generosity of those who give to them, helping them to be able to help as they do. Thank you.
