As usual, i was sleeping in class during evening preps.that was long time a go. This time round i had a trick. I very well knew that the teacher on duty, Mr Okole would squeeze me if am caught. Mr Okole had an appetite of caning students. He used to stay some 100m from the school gate. At times he walked with a cane even in the market. So this time round, I tasted his intelligence. i took out a Bible, opened it and laid ma head on it. I had slept for like 30mins. Mr Okole appeared, no one bothered to wake me up. Okelo came inside our class and towards my seat. When he was close to me, even before he woke me up with the stroke of cane, he started yelling; look at this idiot!her parents paid school fees but she is hear sleeping today the whole school must know that you wea sleeping in class”. I heard Mr Okoles huge voice in my sleep. So before he finished what he was saying, I woke up calmly, as if from a prayer session and said Amen then proceeded to do the sign of the cross, the same way Catholics do(In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit). That’s how I survived mr okellos strokes en I got saved frm dozing during prep time.Mr okello had to leave the room leaving every one in laugh.
