As we age, we seem to greet the Holiday Season with emotions of happiness and sadness. We love watching our childrens eyes light up at all ages on Christmas morning. We love teaching them the true meaning of Christmas and watching them learn to give their time & efforts helping others that struggle financially, or emotionally at this time. Its a feeling that isnt easy to explain, but you know which one it is....you know it because your heart melts, your eyes fill with tears & these moments become forever etched into our minds. Yet, it seems there are always moments that stop us in our tracks .... maybe its the ornament youre about ready to hang on the tree that your Grandmother made...oh how happy you were when she made it just for you. ... but shes not here to hug one more time. Sometimes its the Christmas Carol that plays on the radio as youre driving to work. That one song you envision in your mind & it takes you back to singing with your Mom as youre shopping for your little sisters. You wonder if you shouldve sang it just one more time. Maybe its the smell of fresh baked sugar cookies....or helping your Dad build a baby doll crib for your little sister....or the traditions youve hung onto for your family. Its a paradox of hanging on and letting go every time. I think the reason these memories return is because Christmas is a time to reflect on the people that have made you the person you are today & to make memories with your own children so one day when they pull out that special ornament for their family Christmas Tree, they will take a moment to remember how much love goes into something that seems so small. Mom....this one is for you...our favorite one...just one more time...I miss you so very much. Doyle Miller Dylan Miller Taya Miller
