As we all get ready to send kids back to school, remember to appreciate the teachers. They do much more than any of us realize day in and day out. They no longer just keep records for their students. They must also keep records for every government agency under the sun to prove that Johnny can learn how to be a rocket scientist at age 5. This is not just about teacher accountability it is about the big corporations and think tanks that are making billions off tax payers and keeping the spotlight on teachers rather the companies accountability to parents and tax payers. Have I been that pain in the butt parent? Yes, I have. Sometimes I was right, often wrong.. We all have to work together for our kids and it starts out by being respectful to each other. I can honestly say that I have yet to meet (almost)) any teacher that did not have the best interest of my sons at heart. See, that mom again, but I am so thankful for their calmness, caring and best interest of my guys at the heart of any discussion. So have a great year and if we all work together our kids will succeed! Let the think tanks be answerable to us, do not let them divide us.
