As we all know, customs and traditions are perpetuated from one generation to the next. The “Esprit de Corps” of every Marine has been brought about by their ever-present feeling of pride, not only in his unit, but also in themselves; to emulate, but not bask in the glory of, the worthy deeds of his past. It is with this feeling that we carry on the custom of the mess night. “Long Live the United States and success to the Marines.”
