As we begin 2015, I find it a bit surreal that 2030 is a mere 15 years away. We may or may not have true hoverboards by then but here are some 33 other dramatic predictions from the World Futurist Society. Of course, theres no way to tell which ones will actually come true but most of these arent that far-fetched. It may also evolve. For example, back in 1993, AT&T predicted we wont have to stop our cars to pay toll; we just need to swipe a credit card as we approach the toll gate. That prediction is now a reality only better. We dont even have to swipe a card at all everytime we cross. Its important to note these predictions were made a year ago and a lot more new discoveries has happened since then. In fact, some of the technologies mentioned here are already a reality today so I wouldnt be surprised if the actual prediction is fulfilled within a year or 2 instead of 15 years from now. The actual list is towards the bottom of the page. Ironically, the website of the World Futurist Society looks very dated. :P As Ive said before, the future is both fascinating and scary. I just hope I dont come across a cyborg Arnold Schwarzenegger anytime soon.
