As we celebrate Winter Solstice in this part of the world, others - TopicsExpress

As we celebrate Winter Solstice in this part of the world, others are seriously moving up and down in anticipation of celebrating Christmas, very few or none of the celebrants actually know the truth about Christmas, how it was initially celebrated by the pagans in the ancient times and later hijacked by religious zealots. Right now I am 50% done in making up the school furniture for the Rukoki Campus, have tried making 40 twin desks, 2 sitter benches totaling to 10 and Twenty stools. All these so far plus the 24 plastic chairs we have for toddlers can have 184 pupils sitted and this puts us at a better side. I will perhaps do more furniture as in teacher’s tables, filing cabinets, Vocational center tool cupboards and shelves. Also will try to ensure each classroom has a size-able cupboard or book shelf. In an effort to finalize works on the 8 stance toilet, we are working on a curtain wall to shield off the latrine from other school buildings for privacy reasons and in line with the Uganda Ministry of Education Minimum standards, we have fixed ramps on both sides and we have partitioned the toilets separated by a brick wall, we shall also make urinals with tiled walls to allow urine flow with ease to the soak pit. We intend to put wash rooms as well for bathing purposes. Outside of the toilets in the vicinity, we shall install a plastic rain water harvesting tank to help the children in washing their hands, bodies after visiting the toilets or after games time. At Kasese Humanist, we use murram instead of cement as its what we find cheap for us but also Engineers do recommend Murram usage and considers it to be more stronger and durable than cement as it does not wear off easily as cement over time, the only stability of the building is fully achieved after applying a coat of plaster which is a mixture of water, sand and cement. Coming soon is commencement of works on the school hall and continuation on extending the perimeter fence. Humanist Canada has donated towards completion of the School hall. This is a great relief. The General public especially those who value evidence based learning, Science and Technology and creativity should consider donating to our cause so that children at the school find life there enjoyable in their long journey of Education. All donations to the school can be conveyed through AAI at atheistalliance.org/support-aai/donate, then Select KHPS and proceed with the prompts. Thanks. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! With Science, we can progress.
