As we know, its hard to compare two peoples dental or periodontal condition because their genetics and lifestyles are all different. I recently saw this client who becomes a perfect example: whether or not one has good oral hygiene at home makes big difference. With her permission, I would like to share the two photos and the scenario. Please dont use them for other purposes except for my own web page. She reported me that every day she started brushing her left side teeth, carefully, but when she reached her right side she usually lost patience and brushed that area briefly. Clinically I found much more tartars and plaque built up on her right side. Accordingly her right side has more recession than the left side. If you take a close look at the two photos (both taken after dental hygiene procedure) you should see the difference in terms of gum recession between both sides. Its a great example of telling us keeping good oral hygiene at home can really help to prevent periodontal diseases from progressing.
