As we near five months post accident, our lives have for the most - TopicsExpress

As we near five months post accident, our lives have for the most part adjusted to the changes that Sierras accident brought our lives. We appreciate things more, we have grown in our faith, we have tried to slow down a little and enjoy each others company more, we are more thankful, we see life differently. Sierra is still adjusting to life as a TBI survivor and patient and our weeks usually involve at least one drs visit or phone visit with the dr. She is working on relearning how to learn at A&M, and still working at Pier 1, who thankfully held her job for her. Over the last five months, my family has been served by people we just met, by strangers, by people we have known for years, by family and by our church that we have belonged to for years. We have been amazed by it all and know that it is the divine work of God. This weekend, my church began a series on prayer and I have never in my life felt so much like standing up and saying amen in church. (I didnt just in case your wondering) Prayer is powerful and it works, God hears us and He is glorified when we pray. Before Sierras accident, I prayed, but, not as often as I should. Immediately upon hearing of the accident, I fell to my knees and my dear friend Sonia, who was with me prayed over me and for Sierra. Since, the accident, I pray often, several times a day, I get what my big sister Karen Ann calls prayer nudges and stop and pray for those things. So, I want to thank each and everyone of you for praying for Sierra and our family during this time. I know without a doubt, that He heard your prayers, and He is the reason she is alive and where she is today and for that I am so very thankful. To God be the Glory. I also want to ask you to continue to pray for nurses, doctors and medical staff, they were amazing during our stay at Hermann Memorial and TIRR and I cannot say enough wonderful things about them, but pray for them working everywhere. We really developed a relationship with one of Sierras nurses who was absolutely amazing, if you came to visit Sierra, you will remember Mrs. Barbara. We stopped by and visited with her the other day and it made both of our hearts so happy to see one another and she was so happy to meet Sierra awake, it really sets things right for them to see patients who recover. Nurses really risk their own health and safety to put the well being and safety of others and I am blessed for Sierra to have been treated by the ones God put in our path.
