As we previously reported, Big Spring City Council recently voted unanimously to accept a generous, unsolicited offer from the Big Spring Economic Development Corp (EDC) to pay for a much needed update to the citys master plan for both the city and citys industrial / airpark facility. It has been many years since the citys master plan has been updated comprehensively. The cost of the new plan is estimated at around $247,000, according to EDC Director Terry Wegman. EDC plans to foot the entire bill for that. There will be a community meeting so that the public may offer their input on the new master plan before it is developed, and that meeting is scheduled for April 21, 6 pm, Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the Howard College campus.
