As we proceed into 2015, I will on a monthly basis post information and discussion of topics related to your Health and Wellness; after all, it is an essential component of our business name, Apollo Chiropractic Health and Wellness, LLC. Before proceeding to discussing health and wellness, I want to write briefly why we chose Apollo as a theme for our business name. Apollo is the classical Greek and Roman God with the ideal likeness of a beardless athletic youth who presides over healing and medicine, truth and prophecy, light and the sun, music, poetry and art, and more. Though now in modern times, the pantheon of gods is considered a pagan concept, the virtues of health, healing, wellness are embodied in qualities of Apollo. Additionally, Chiropractic is a Greek derived name for our profession meaning “practiced by hand” for the nature of our healing art. As chiropractors, we are extensively trained to use manipulation and mobilization of our patient’s joints with our hands to guide normal movement back from a state of dysfunction. Finally, as it may be by chance or providence, our business is located on San Rafael Avenue in Albuquerque. San Rafael so happens to be the archangel who presides over God’s intervention of healing in the traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. So with the greatest respect to peoples’ individual beliefs, our intention of beholding the concepts, qualities, and virtues of good health and wellness in our patients is paramount in our choice of business name and location.
