As we recognize Mental Illness Awareness Week, it’s important to continue to protect the mental health benefits that Oregonians need and rely on. Earlier this year, the Administration proposed changes to Medicare that would have severely limited seniors’ access to anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. I opposed these drastic changes, and along with 49 of my colleagues from both sides of the aisle, sent a letter to the Administration letting them know my concerns. The Administration later withdrew these proposed changes to these important benefits. I’ll continue to work to improve mental health services for Oregonians, especially veterans, students, and seniors. Click here to read the letter:
