As we reflect on our upcoming anniversary and the fact that it will be 25 years, considered the Silver Anniversary...the shear notion that we made it this far together is a shining moment. It will be 9,125 days...some struggles ~ financial, God knows the immediate In-Laws was a constant thorn and point of division, difference of opinions about parenting, the unclaimed bagged we discovered down the road after the rings, the kiss, the I dos and honeymoon cruise...the stuff we each didnt share before. There were days when a permanent departure seemed to be a welcome celebration. Words from the poem by Langston Hughes ~ Life aint no crystal stairway, rings true for a marriage... if it were we both would have slide downward...the splinters and nails helped us to keep climbing towards this silver moment. I have learned that you fall in love, more than once with each other, I have learned that when things dont look good, and arent going well the simple thread of still liking each other is enough to weave a new tapestry of love for one another..to young married couples...Stan and I suggest strongly that you hold on to that thread. We have learned together that God (Papa) must be in the center of our love because he always will bring you back to the middle of it. (thats what the thread is attached to the center ~ Papa! And from the words of another song that rings true after 25 years of holy matrimony: tho we had some bad days and some hills to climb, and some weary days and I had many sleepless nights...but when we look around and think things over...all of our bad days are outweighed by our Good Days...and we wont complain. Stan: According to Webster marriage is a noun...but according to me marriage is a verb, requiring constant action, to be in full affect. Stan refuses to have a Facebook page but he picked out this song for our message (thank you honey!)...lol. his own FB page is another issue.
