As well as the presentations for the Men of the Match for each team, there is another element to the Awards Night that requires your input (whether you attend or not) and that is to vote for: a.Most Improved Player b. Clubman of the Year These two awards are won based on the votes of the club membership (i.e. you!). So for a. Most Improved Player: Whose hockey do you think has improved the most this season? Clearly this is totally down to you to decide based on what you have seen. And for b. Clubman of the Year: Who do you think has made the most significant contribution to the running of the club this season? This is also down to you to decide but you might want to consider the following: Club Captain - Rob Evans - does lots of smoothing over of issues, organised the Ski Trips, gives people lifts to matches, helps at training is also our Child Protection Officer and has arranged many CRB checks to ensure our youngsters are safe. 1st 2nd and 3rd XI Team Captains and Vice Captains (I am sure you know your own team Captain): they organise the teams on the day and before hand, help organise lifts, collect money and votes (this is sometimes done/helped by others) Treasurer - Ian Whiteman - makes sure we have enough money coming in to meet our costs, ensures pitches, coach etc are paid for. Ian also umpires for the 3s almost every week, collects the match fees and MoM votes. Umpires - Andy Warr, Andy retired from playing hockey and has umpired virtually every 2nd XI match this season plus the occasional 3rd team match. Im sure Dom will confirm that this is a tremendous help to organising the 2nds. - Richard Brown, Richard has umpired for all teams this season when he could and has also played for the 3rds - Ian Whiteman, as mentioned above, Ian has been the regular 3rd team Umpire. Apologies to those who have done other stuff (e.g. Dom Monteiro who is organising the Awards Night itself, Will Jackson who organised various Social Events including Christmas Spectacular Crazy Golf evening. As you can see lots of people do lots of stuff to make the club what it is - so please spend a couple of minutes thinking who you would like to vote for and send me their names (with an indication of whether they are Most Improved or Clubman).
