As you all are aware, GECT 1982-86 batch, after back and forth discussions and deliberations have decided to collaborate with GECTDT. This is the first time a batch as a whole has come forward to work together with GECTDT by contributing a significant chunk of money it has collected during its 25th anniversary celebrations to projects where GECTDT is providing the leadership and direction. As we all know, the demarcations using year of admission/branches etc. are mostly for administrative ease and when it comes to larger matters related to our alma mater, we should be really one in its spirit and heart, and should stay above such artificial divisions. I thank the 1982-86 members and donors for their courage in proclaiming the same. This is a extremely important in the history of GECTDT. We owe it to the 1982-86 batch for writing this new chapter in the history of GECTDT. Yes, money is important to make things happen. However more than money, the trust the 1982-86 batch has shown in GECTDT is the most important thing for the trust. I am sure many in that batch has spent a lot of time to arrive at this decision. Still, if I dont mention at least some of the names here, it will be a disservice to the sincere men and women who really care and their virtuousness. Basheer Ahmad, Babyk Raman, Beena, Vijaikumar Divakaran Nellayikunnam, Santhosh K.N, Sriram D, Mukundan Padinjaremadom and all others from the 1982-86 who steered the group in arriving at this decision, we are obliged to you guys. I promise you, we wont let you down. We look forward to your guidance and direction in taking GECTDT to the next levels. We are yet to confcall and discuss the final details of this collaboration. However, I am too excited to wait until all of that is over to announce this. As and when such details are worked out, we will announce it here. As I am announcing this exciting news, I would like to draw your attention to our dear leader and chairman of the GECTDT Board, Abraham Binoy and the countless hours that he is contributing to our activities on the campus grounds. His technical knowledge when it comes to engineering and construction as well his purely charitable interest in leading this effort combined with his endless passion for idealism is what is driving the momentum we have. We all know how hard it is to find some time out of our busy schedules to think charity. As for Binoy, it comes naturally to him. Lets all come together and give a big round of applause to acknowledge the efforts of our leader. Binoy, we salute you for doing everything in your capacity to take care of the needs of our alma mater on behalf of us all. From the bottom of our heart, thank you our dear friend!!
