As you all know, I compare Competitive Pokemon to a man lighting - TopicsExpress

As you all know, I compare Competitive Pokemon to a man lighting himself on fire. Theres one lesson we can learn from the stupidity however: Smogon has a ranking system that compares all pokemon and objectively finds the best. If 2 pokemon do basically the same thing, but ones better at it, then the worse one never gets used at all and is banished to a low tier. Why would anyone use an inferior pokemon? Some pokemon persevere and find new niches. They might be weak, but if they can offer something to a team that nobody else can, theyll be highly used. Talonflame has lower atk and speed than other common bird pokemon. Why does it ever see any play? Its ability Gale Wings gives it priority and makes it one of the best pokemon in the game. Nobody in their right mind would use Talonflame without giving it Gale Wings. Why would they? So many other pokemon could do its job much better. Thats the problem with using certain yugioh decks. People build Dragon Rulers hoping to spam rank 7s, when Mermail, Sylvan, and even Harpie are simply better at it. People use Gravekeepers hoping for stun, but Shaddolls fill that role so much better. Im not going to tell you (in this post. Ill tell you this later) not to play a certain deck, but I am going to tell you to think about WHY you play it. If youre using Hunders because of their rank 4 summoning, youre an idiot. Satellar-Knights fill that role much better. If you choose to use Hunders, focus on their ability to synergize with Watts and make a CobraHorse deck. On a side note, if you choose to use Breloom, dont strap him with Focus Punch/Substitute; Spore/Drain Punch is much more effective.
