As you can see the area is poor where we were but area is beautiful. Near Lake Victoria the rolling hills are home to thousands of small shambas, (family farms). My Kiswahili is not good here as everyone speaks Luo. This is where Wilson and I slept. It is an old family house that is huge by African standards but one side is left empty for storage and of course visitors. But you know it is great for us because it actually has a wall socket with electricity that is active and a desk to work at when not in the field, and a sofa. We have had as many as 8 men sleep here and that made it hot since we cant leave the windows open due to foreigners being scared of Malaria and Denge fever and other normal stuff here. That actually makes them wise. Wilson and I just lather on the anti big juice, keep a little malaria meds handy and open those windows. Ahhhh cool and quite. Nothing but clucking chickens, mooing cows and children laughing in the morning. Paradise in the mission field. I will be wanting to come back soon. Everyone here wants to give me land and build me an African house. Tempting.
