As your Thanksgiving dinner is cooking, here are two exercises that you can sneak in! Use a chair or counter-top! Very effective and targets the booty and legs. 1. Standing Leg Raises - 3 sets of 10 reps -both sides * Step supporting leg about 1.5 feet away from chair * Rest supporting forearm on top of chair * Extend opposite leg until it is parallel to the floor (Starting position) * Contract abdominals, pulling belly button towards spine, engaging abs. * Extend opposite arm upwards and reach behind head, bending elbow, pushing chest forward (increases use of obliques) * In a controlled manner, lift leg upwards and return to starting position. That is one rep. Repeat 10 times, rest and repeat set 3 times. Elvis Legs (3 sets) * Bring legs together on ballet turn-out ( heels together, toes facing outwards) * Rise up onto balls of feet, adjust so heels touch each other * Bending knees outwards, lowering downwards and hold. * Wiggle legs outwards, in a popping motion. Find a rhythm with this, it helps to have music with a strong beat (10 times) * Up for challenge?! lower body further and travel the wiggle legs as you lower! Shake out legs between sets! For more leg and butt workouts, check out our Rock Bottom program - Wed 7:15 pm or Sat 9:30 am - simply join us!
