AsI said in a previous post, we didnt have indoor plumbing. However we did have an old claw foot bath tub....out behind the well house. In the summer I would fill it with water first thing in the morning. After sitting in the sun all day it would be warm enough to bath in. Things went like this...first my dad would take a bath. Then my mom. Then my little sister. Finally it would be my turn. Water wasnt quite clean by this time, but after working and sweating all day it felt good to get somewhat clean. Winter was another matter altogether. We would heat water on the heating stove in a wash pan. Then wash and rinse as best you could. The best part of winter was that I had my very own clean water to bathe in.
