Asante Kotoko gets new board; Sammy Kuffour included A statement released from the office of the Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace, the home of Asante Kotoko confirms the life patron of the club, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has constituted a ten-member board for the Ghanaian Champions. The new Kotoko board has five ‘fresh’ faces with ex-Ghana International Samuel Osei Kuffour, the CEO of First Atlantic Bank, Jude Kofi Arthur who has before now been serving on the Otumfuo Education Fund Board as members. Others include Frank Appiagyei (Veteran Journalist, Businessman), Nana Ekuoba Kwadwo Gyasi (owner of K. Gyasi Co. Ltd), and the Ankobeahene of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Kwame Kusi II. Three members from the immediate past Dr. KK Sarpong-led administration have been appointed onto the new board of the Ghanaian League Champions. They are in the persons of Paul Adu-Gyamfi, former President of the Ghana Bar Association who will now act as the substantive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Kofi Dua Adonten, former MD of Ghana Post and Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, Chariman of the National Media Commission. A representative each from the supporters’ front, the National Circles Council and Asante Kotoko Old Players Association (AKOPA) will be elected to make up the 10-member team. “The Chief Executive to be appointed by the board, and one representative each to be elected by the National Circles Council of Kotoko Supporters and the Association of Old Kotoko Players,” a section of the statement signed by Kofi Badu, the Chief of Staff of Asantehene read. “The New Board will be inaugurated by His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Asantehene at Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, August 28,” it ended.
