Ascension Adventures DAY2!! December 2nd, 2014! Our second destination is TULUM the world renowned iconic Mayan Pyramid located in the foot banks of the Mayan Caribbean Riviera, one of the most beautiful and surreal scenery in the world. Tulum was built around the 13th century and was one of the last Mayan cities ever built just shortly before the Spanish conquest. The original name of Tulum means zama meaning city of dawn, also in maya means tomorrow or goodnight There are numerous pyramidal temple structures used to monitor the celestial passage of stars and of the sun. There are numerous depictions off the diving god and that of the rain god Chaak. After visiting the site we will swim in the costal turquoise waters perhaps the best spot for swimming anywhere in the world!! After a long day visiting the site our team will be heading to a local fish market to try the seas delicates! As well as vegetarian options. By night we will participate in a sacred temazcal ceremony as we do it ever year with our shaman friend Paco.
