Ashen Grey She is the best I have ever seen Though she is a stranger to me As she stands on the platform To her heart I want the key Every morning we get the same train To the city we travel together That half hour in that carriage Is the height of my daily pleasure When we arrive she meets a man They always cuddle and kiss Walking off together arm in arm To be that fortunate man is my wish But I am just a dreamer My desire will never be For they seem so happy together I am trapped Im loves debris One morning she did not appear And the train was a journey forlorn My sadness was there for all to see My heart was pieced by a thorn My heart was not a blooming rose Just a sharp rose thorn was in place The train journey took forever Of my usual joy their was no trace The man she would meet was waiting As into the platform the train did pull He fruitlessly looked about for her He was not happy his face was so dull I watched as he left his head bowed All his manly pride scattered around I stood there with understanding For all my happiness had been drowned Though its some time ago I still take that journey every day And he is aways there waiting With a face so ashen grey Is their any moral to this story Are any lessons to be learned If their are I just ignore them Im unhappy, he has been spurned
