Asia is leaving the US in the dust yet again. They have trains - TopicsExpress

Asia is leaving the US in the dust yet again. They have trains that can take you from NY to LA in only a few hours. These towers prove that the future of art & technology is biomimicry, which is using the palette of the tree of life as a source of ideas. Like the idea of Velcro came from a plant for example. A lot of this biomimicry happens inadvertently. I.e: they discovered that the patterns in which forager ants hunt for food mirror tc/pip protocols that govern the information flow on the Internet. This smart, engineered way we figured out how to send data on the web mirrors the way forager ants hunt. They share the same patterns. Which is really interesting. Or how the information sharing systems which comprise the Internet look exactly like the neurons we fire off in our brains. These manmade things when they work really well tend to mirror nature. So were nature & anything we make is an extension of nature, too (to a certain degree of course). I bet these Chinese towers (when completed, will be the tallest towers in the world) was greatly influenced by the complicated air-flow techniques of termite mounds in Tanzania. Those wonderful arthropod engineers had it right!
