Asiana Airlines is considering legal action against a US TV station that reported fake and racially offensive names for the pilots on board a fatal crash in San Francisco this month. Three passengers died after the South Korean Boeing 777 crash-landed at San Francisco airport on July 6. Following the crash, a news presenter on Californian TV station KTVU-TV read out a list of fake names for the pilots on board, including Captain Sum Ting Wong, Wi Tu Lo, Ho Lee Fuk and Bang Ding Ow. An image of the burning plane wreck ran with the report, along with the list of names next to it. The National Transportation Safety Board, which is responsible for investigating aviation accidents, confirmed the names before the report was broadcast, according to The Guardian.
